WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO SEE YOUR PAST LIVES?

BERNARDO TAHAN GÓMEZ

I'm not going to deceive you, I would never do it. Seeing your past lives is not for everyone, although almost everyone could see them. I know it sounds contradictory but I'm going to explain. We all potentially have the possibility of seeing our past lives, but deep down it takes a very special set of circumstances, to be able to break through the barriers that prevent us, from seeing them in order to do so. First, it requires a strong intention to try to do so. Modern life distracts us with thousands of things, material, superficial, real problems of daily life, work, family, economic problems, that we do not have time for ourselves; to explore what we feel; our inner self; our true universe. All the source of joys, sadness, fears, hope, anger, compassion is within ourselves. In that forgotten, unknown corner, affected by our indifference that is called soul. That is a first powerful element that prevents us from looking inside: the irresistible attractions and distractions of modern life, which from the spiritual point of view, only make us waste time. As Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, said, we are asleep. In a deep sleep and we do not want to or cannot wake up.  So, the first element is the strong distraction of the outside world, which prevents us from seeing inside.

The second element is that we have become accustomed to pain. This life, from the internal point of view, of our soul, is a suffering, but not so much because of the external aspects, but because of the indifference we show towards our spiritual life or internal world. It is a dark cavern, unknown and full of painful, sad and overwhelming emotions with which we have become accustomed to coexist, to accept and tame them, with rituals such as worldly distractions, positive actions such as physical exercise, or work, altruistic actions such as affection for our family. We do everything to escape from inner pain. We smile at others, we try to be the best we can be, but you know, as I say in the first line of my book "Your Past Lives Are Present"; "I KNOW YOU FEEL BAD, YOU FEEL BAD ALL THE TIME..."

So, we have become accustomed to inner pain. To anxiety, to fear for silly things, for things that never happen, to anger for insignificant gestures of others. To the absurd worry about everything. It is as if we were born with two kilos of weight on the back of our necks. After so many years living with that weight, you get used to walk, to live with it.

The third element is that past lives are not seen in a day, nor in three, nor in a week. At least in my case it wasn't like that. It requires a time commitment. It is a distance race. We want everything fast, we don't have time to waste, not even to get to know each other, for ourselves. We have time to dedicate to everything, but not to see ourselves inside. If you expect to see your past lives with a simple regression, I think you will be disappointed. That channel must be opened and it does not open in one day. It is a work that takes time. It took me a month, after doing self regressions every night, to see my first past life. From there, I did wonderful and exciting work for a year to see most of my past lives. Remember that we have lived hundreds of years, and each life leaves its scars on our soul. Do you honestly believe that pain, strong, traumatic experiences from dozens of lives can be resolved in a one-hour session? In a one hour session, if you are lucky, what you can realize is that reincarnation DOES exist, and that can excite you, stimulate you to continue exploring yourself inside. But to know yourself, to clean the mirror of your soul, you need time, dedication, patience. The beautiful news, the best of all, is that YOU can do it yourself. You don't need anyone else. This is wonderful.

The fourth element, but not less important, is FEAR. We panic to regress and see our past lives, because the painful experiences are unconscious. We all run away from pain and it is natural. But this fear is an illusion, it is a mirage. It has no reason to be. I did a self-regression, every day, from 1996 to 1997 and absolutely nothing happened to me. It is a false fear, because when you do the regression, you see all the tragedy of your previous lives, where you have not only suffered harm, but you have caused pain to other people, but you DON'T EXPERIENCE it, you don't feel it in intensity, you don't repeat it, you don't relive it. You just watch it, like a movie. If you died from a stab wound, you don't feel the stab again. You can see yourself on the floor dying, but you don't feel the physical pain you felt at that moment.  If you drowned, you do not feel the suffocation again. You can see your body floating in the water, but you don't feel that you are drowning. You don't feel anything.  You only see images and experience nothing physical. You can remember emotions, but not feel them again. I have 27 years of remembering my previous lives, because I don't need any regression anymore, and I have NEVER, EVER had any problems, discomfort or suffering from remembering anything. Even if you were burned alive in the inquisition, you will not feel any pain in remembering it. I don't know how to tell you any clearer than that.

To conclude, to see your past lives you must combine the will and desire to overcome these four elements; overcome the distractions, stop getting used to the pain, have patience, and let go of the fear of yourself.

I believe that seeing my past lives or reincarnation processes, from a spiritual point of view, has been the best thing that has happened to me in this life. It opened up a world of awareness and contemplation of life, which I have not had in any of my previous lives, where I have simply been a stupid, blind and numb walker, stumbling from mistake to mistake with all my fellow men.
